New to a Starbucks near you...starting tomorrow.
Frappucino Lite! The low-calorie alternative to the fabulous blended beverage...made with my favorite (and the best) calorie-less, carb-less,sugar-less (yet made from sugar) additive on the market - Splenda! It's what I use, what Ryan Secrest uses, and what I promote to shoppers at Target when I happen to be in that aisle. haha. Also get a free Frappucino Lite tomorrow (Wednesday) between 4p and 7p at all Starbucks!
I can't wait.

Clarification - The guy in the CSUF pic is actually my cousin, not my brother. He is a freshman at CSUF and is a pitcher. Congrats to Nolan...Also a family fact, my cousin was named based off of my name. He was named Nolan after famous baseball player Nolan Ryan, but also the fact that Nolan was chosen because if we were in the same room and someone called us both, they would say Nolan Ryan. haha corny I know.

Since Pride has past us all. Every year everyone has some fond memory of the events, but since I excused myself this year from all events (well I guess San Diego is still left, ugh), I thought I would share A Moment In Ryan's Pride History.
I will take you back to San Francisco Pride 1999. While most of y'all were still in high school, I was still coming to terms with my own sexuality and trying to get my life back on track after going through some really difficult emotional times. See, everything wasn't always perfect for me. Well anyways, so I drove up from LA to Pride with some friends. My first SF pride, and only my 2nd pride overall. LA 98 was my first. I was still learning about life and being gay.
Well on that Friday we went to Universe. And I happened to run into my friend Im up in da club. So we hung out and had a fun time. Well the next day, his friends had their own agenda and so did mine. Since I had no plans and didn't really know what to do or where to go, he invited me to go to this party called "Reunion" held in the City Hall Rotunda. Well it cost $40 a person, but I was willing to spend the money. So he and I went that night trying to buy tickets. Unfortunately we get to the front door to find out that tickets were all sold out. Some guy with angel wings gave us the bad news. So we begged, but he declined. Well I guess our perseverance paid off, because just as we decided to give up and started walking away from the doors, angel guy called us to come back. We go back. He tells us that although there were no tickets to sell, he did have a job for us to do and that after we did it, we were welcome to stay inside the Rotunda and party til the end. I was hesitate because I was worried on what "job" it would be, but we decided that do it. Well the job turned out to be to walk around the rotunda area (dance floor) and pass out 2 boxes, one of gum and one of condoms to the party-goers. All we had to do was walk around, say hi to people, and offer them the goodies. Within one hour of sporting the boxes and getting in an occassional dance or two, our boxes were empty. Well I did the gum and it was all gone. The condom box still had a few left, but angel guy was quite satisfied with the job we did and told us to "have the time of our lives". The party was massive and unbelievable. We met so many people while doing our "job". This was my first SF Pride and I was mesmerized, in a state of awe. For a hour of passing out gum and condoms, we got into a sold-out party without paying a dime. Good times. Later that night we went back to Universe and had a blast til 6am. I think the first time I danced til sunrise, and made lots of friends, including my good friend from the bay, Keith. That weekend was unbelievable. A weekend of good clean fun, and believe it or not, innocence was word for the weekend for me. I didn't need to be scandalous, I was captured by the experience. Definitely a weekend I will never forget. A weekend in Ryan's Gay Pride History. |
